How can you book online?

The best way would be to book online since spot booking at the gate may not be possible. Here is the direct link [https://www.mahaonline.gov.in/NationalPark/MahaNationalPark/Availability.aspx]. Select the correct sanctuary from a drop-down menu and you will see the availability. Click on the date and go from there.

What are the hours?

In the morning the sanctuary is open to tourists between 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM. You will have to exit by 11:00 AM. In the afternoon, you will be allowed to visit between 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Again, the park will close at 6:30 PM, so you will have about 4 hours inside the sanctuary if you arrive at 2:30. The Sanctuary is closed on Mondays and from July 1st to October 15th for the monsoon season.

The charges of the safari trip are quite affordable.

  • Vehicle entry fee is : 110 INR
  • Adult / child entry fee is : 50 / 25 INR each.
  • Guide Fee - 300 INR
  • A tourist guide is a must requirement as you go out to explore the different species of the region.
  • Gypsy charges are 1800 INR per safari.

These gypsies are available at Karhandla gate of the sanctuary. The Umred Karhandla sanctuary is open at different timings in morning and evening. For morning safari trip the timings are 6:00AM to 8:30AM and the afternoon timings are 2:30PM to 4:30PM. The sanctuary is closed on Mondays. There are some other spots, which you must see as you go to the place. All the nature lovers must look out for the various water bodies that are found in abundance in the region. These water sources exhibit a lovely range of bird species during migration. Tourism route is about 60km long in the Karhandla region and 32 km in the Paoni region. A whole day is less to explore the sanctuary and the region fully but the safari trip should be at least four to five hours long. Only online bookings are to be made for safari and spot booking can be made at regional office of forests in Nagpur subject to availability. One cannot afford to miss the safari trip as the rare sights of tigers and leopards can make your day in the sanctuary. Take your camera along and capture the picturesque views. The chirping and whistling sounds of the birds and fresh air gives you a rejuvenating feeling. One can stay with these refreshing memories for many days even after going from the sanctuary. Planning must be done well in time. Smoking is not allowed inside the sanctuary area
